Intro
Born and raised in beautiful, tropical Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I started pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Georgia Tech in January 2022. My major-specific concentrations are in Modeling & Simulation and Computer Graphics. Before joining Georgia Tech, I worked as a Civil Engineer at GDOT for 2 years. Check out my latest work.

About
Back at home, I spent the majority of my time with my friends and family, playing the piano, and learning Japanese and Italian. In college, I spend my time once again with friends and family, biking, hiking, and traveling.

Recent Experience
ROBOTICS, AUTOMATION, & COMPUTER VISION | PYTHON & AWS SERVICES
On Summer 2023, I worked on developing computer vision technologies using Python and Amazon's version of Robot Operating System (ROS).
I have been tasked with integrating 3 different pre-trained machine models (segmentation, CRAFT, and OCR) into Amazon's proprietary ROS.
These models work together to take in an image as an input and output the required information to be processed against some comparison logic
to determine if that image has a specific property. I was also tasked to use AWS Lambda to implement an annotation pipeline on SageMaker Ground
Truth to help get annotated images to test and train said models.
Prior to implementing both of these tasks, I wrote a design document for each of them where I explained my proposed approaches,
the pros and cons of each, and any integration tests to be done. Additionally, I analyzed a dataset of 10,000+ samples against the segmentation,
CRAFT, and OCR deep learning models, and plotted data visualizations of key findings derived from the analysis. I also authored a comprehensive
research document outlining the data analysis procedure and insights derived.

ROBOTICS & LiDAR | ROBOT OPERATING SYSTEM & PYTHON
During Fall 2022, I worked as a part-time Software Engineer Intern at The Home Depot's OrangeWorks Lab. Collaborating closely with another intern, I contributed
to a project focused on utilizing a quadruped robot for LiDAR scanning in various distribution centers. Making use of Robot Operating System (ROS), we
collected and manipulated point cloud data to enhance scanning precision.
To improve the accuracy of the LiDAR scans, I extracted point clouds and developed a method to reduce the speed of the quadruped robot, significantly
increasing the detail and reliability of the collected data. I designed and implemented several unit and integration tests in Python, ensuring the service
achieved a remarkable 99% uptime during operations. This role allowed me to hone my skills in robotics, ROS, and Python, while also providing valuable
experience in presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensuring high service reliability through rigorous testing.

DESKTOP APP | DEVELOPED IN C# & UNITY
During Sumer 2022, I designed and developed a Unity application consisting of five games: Peg Solitaire, 2048, 8 Puzzle, Flappy Bird, and Rock, Paper, Scissors.
This project allowed me to gain hands-on experience in Unity development, C# programming, and agile project management, while also honing my skills in
applying software design principles and patterns. As part of the development process, I created various scenes, game objects, scripts, prefabs, and animations,
ensuring proper file organization and maintainability.
My team implemented an agile methodology with 2-week long sprints, utilizing ZenHub for GitHub to manage project tasks and track progress. This approach
facilitated effective collaboration and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, we adhered to SOLID and GRASP principles, as well
as design patterns, to produce high-quality, scalable code.

APP | DEVELOPED IN JAVA & JavaFX
In Spring 2022, I develop a playable Java Wordle UI, named Jordle, an application that allows users to progressively guess a random 5-letter word correctly.
I was able to deepen my understanding of Java and JavaFX, as well as to practice designing responsive and interactive user interfaces.
I designed the main scene to display a 6x5 grid pane containing 30 label objects, each representing a letter of the word to be guessed. This grid layout
provided a clear and intuitive interface for users to input their guesses. The application also features two anonymous inner classes: one to handle action
events that display instructions in a pop-up window when the instructions button is clicked, and another to handle window events that confirm with the
user if they intend to exit the application.
To handle user input efficiently, I utilized lambda expressions to manage key events. These expressions assign letters to the corresponding labels in the
grid and check if the entered guess matches the target word. Additionally, I defined an inner class that overrides a KeyEvent handler, which is invoked
using a lambda expression whenever the user releases a key.
